In the summer of 2009, my body betrayed me.

The simple act of standing up became a continuing crisis, with my vision going black, my limbs going numb, and sometimes, waking up on the floor.

I spent my summer with electrodes attached to my head, strapped to tilt-tables, in MRI machines, but most especially, laying down, looking out the window at the world happening around me.

My life was permanently altered, and my dreams were put on hold.

From windows, porches, and passenger's seats after appointments, this is what I saw.

Update: November 1, 2009. My diagnosis is autonomic nervous system failure, coupled with a temporal seizure disorder.
Neither of these are curable, but both can sometimes respond to medications.
In the coming days, I may find myself in many different shades of drug hazes, which may generate a whole new crop of photos.
Stay tuned.
